This event will introduce the Japanese traditional performing art of Noh from various angles,with a festival theme. There will be an opportunity to try on a Noh masks, and historical Noh costumes will be on display. Many Noh actors will also be there. Interpreters will be available, so please feel free to join us.

Noh Masks Experience

Main characters of Noh wear masks that represent women, old men, demons and spirits. These masks tell the audience what kinds of characters are being portrayed. In this booth, find your favorite mask and try it on. You can try on about 50 types of Noh masks.

Exhibition of Noh Masks and Costumes

You can see close to Noh masks and costumes which are actually used at performance. You will discover beauty of the traditional embroidery and patterns that have been a real treat for the eyes of audience for over 700 years.

We will have a large panel of a popular scene from the Noh play"FUNABENKEI", which serves as the main visual for this event. Please enjoy taking commemorative photos with your family and friendsat the impressive photo spot.

A Movie Show on a Big Screen

You can watch a special movie about the Kanze Noh theater's backstage that only performers are allowed to enter. The host will be the young Noh actor Kanze Saburota. There will also be a special video introducing famous places in Ginza. In addition, a Noh movie called "God, Demon. Beauty: The Three Great Noh Plays", which makes fulluse of cutting-edge computer graphics, willbe screened twice a day. Please enjoy the powerful images on the specially prepared large screen.

Interactive Workshop
Featuring with Knaze Noh Performers

Kanze Noh School performers willexplain aboutthe history. Noh masks and costumes. They also invite you their Noh exercise such as a theater vocal training and acting practices that all participants move their body together.
In addition, a short Noh performance will be presented. This workshop is our highlight of the event that you can enjoy learning about unique expressions of Noh.

•Each workshop is available up to 400 participants on a first-come first-served basis.
