The Kongo Noh Theater opened in 2003 near the former "Flower Palace" of the Muromachi Shogunate, which is closely associated with Noh theater in Kyoto. The Noh stage was relocated from the former Kongo Noh Theatre in Muromachi, where it has stood for more than 130 years, to create a space that transcends time and space by blending a 19th century stage into a 21st century Noh theater.
