Workshop 1: Introduction to Noh and Chanting
Utilizing the stage and seating area of the theater, an active Noh performer will provide an insightful introduction to the art form. Participants will have the rare opportunity to practice Noh chanting—the rhythmic dialogue and narration used to tell these ancient stories—and witness a live performance of the dance "Takasago," followed by an engaging post-performance talk.

Workshop 2: Understanding Kyogen and musical accompaniment
During a live Kyogen performance, a professional performer will provide a guided explanation of this traditional comedic art. The session also features a discussion on the musical accompaniment that is indispensable to the stage, as well as a performance of the maibayashi (dance with musical accompaniment) "Hagoromo." Please come and experience the depth of these traditional Japanese performing arts.

The theater is constructed entirely of Japanese cypress (hinoki), beautifully embodying six hundred years of tradition.
